When I started my blog, I expected most of you to know me. Know my tone, my attitude and all my sarcasm. I expected you to know what makes me tick and where I am heading when I ask questions. Well…looking back, that was super unfair of me.
So readers, here I am. I am a 23 year old, poor, struggling New Yorker. I wouldn’t trade this lifestyle for anything though. I love being around people, but also appreciate my time alone. Driving to the beach with the windows down and the music turned all the way up could quite possibly be my favorite thing in the world. I am a young professional that craves new things and needs a challenge. I spent the past year working for a start-up and loving every second (well…maybe not every second). I am currently on the job hunt and refuse to settle for anything but what I deserve.
That being said, I am convinced that so much of who you are and who you grow to be, comes from you passion. The fire inside you that you need to achieve, express, and share. Passion comes in different forms and can mean different things. For example, some people are passionate about a life style or person, while others are passionate about family or work. It is something we don’t normally have control over but drives much of our everyday life.
Now that I am officially on the job hunt (you know you want to hire me), several people I have spoken to have ask me what my passion is. What it is inside me that is going to drive me to be great? They’ve told me, “once I figure that out, knowing what the next step is will fall in your lap.”
So, what is my passion?
Seems like an easy enough question, right? Unfortunately, it took me a second to get past the everyday nonsense and realize what I am truly passionate about. So after much deliberation my answer is (drum roll please) ——-> You.
You barely know me and I am telling you that YOU are my passion, kinda awkward right? Okay, don’t panic, I am not stalking you. I am trying to say that you, my community, is my passion. ”You” are all the people that read my blog, all the bloggers and twitter people I follow, and basically everyone in my life is my passion. I love building relationships and communities. It is what makes me get up every day, go to work, pick up the phone, go out at night and really enjoy my life.
Let me explain what I mean since community is a pretty broad term. There are several different kind of communities: online, neighborhoods, family, friends, churches, etc. Community is a place you belong, where you can find information, advice, and share with your knowledge with others. It is where you build relationships, grow, and help others grow. I am always looking for community in my life. I also am always looking to grow and help others within my communities.
So now that you all know what makes me tick and what I strive for everyday. I want to know, why you are who you are and what is your passion?
